    Te Atatu Peninsula

Te Atatū Peninsula (formerly Te Atatu North) is a waterfront suburb of West Auckland surrounded by the Waitematā Harbour. The area was home to brickworks and farmland until the Northwestern Motorway was constructed in the 1950s, after which Te Atatū developed a low and medium-cost suburb. The area south of the motorway became known as Te Atatū South. The Auckland Harbour Board intended to develop a port on the peninsula for much of the 20th century. After plans for this were abandoned, the land was redeveloped into Footrot Flats Fun Park, an amusement park which operated in the 1980s. During the late 2010s, large-scale housing intensification led to the population of Te Atatū greatly expanding.

The Te Atatū Peninsula is approximately four kilometres in length and two kilometres in width, and is surrounded by the Waitematā Harbour. It's known for it's walkway which starts from Harbourview-Orangihina Park and follows the eastern edge of the Te Atatū Peninsula, taking in spectacular views across the Waitemata Harbour towards Auckland City. There is also plenty of opportunity to spot native birds like dotterel, pūkeko and tōrea (oystercatchers) along the way.

In 2024, construction began on the Te Atatū busway station, a planned stop on the Northwestern Busway, connecting Westgate to the Auckland City Centre along the Northwestern Motorway. An urban marae is planned to be developed at the Harbourview-Orangihina Park The Auckland Council plans to revegetate the Harbourview-Orangihina Park with native plants, and to create a network of walking and cycling paths along the western shores of the Whau River.

Te Atatu Peninsula is a self sufficient community with the town centre providing all amenities, Library and Primary, Intermediate and Secondary schooling.

You’ve got the know-how and you can identify opportunity when you see it.

Land bankers, developers and do-uppers, you’ve been searching all over the stunning Te Atatu Peninsula for your next project … and here it is!

35 Hereford Street presents to market with 675 square metres (more or less) of sun-baked, freehold land and offers Auckland’s most opportune high-density development zoning – “Terrace Housing and Apartment Building Zone.”

Being only a short, flat stroll from the village centre with its cafes, markets, staple amenities and shopping precinct – the location is unbeatable!

This brick and tile residence has remained in the hands of one owner for over 30 years. The interior isn’t entirely on par with current fashion trends, though if you wished to keep this home for a time and shower it with love, it’d love you right back!

Featuring three bedrooms, one bathroom, sunny living, a galley kitchen leading to the dining room, plus an oversized garage stationed on the trimmed and fenced lawns.

When purchasing to develop or landbank, it’s best to acquire land with high-density zoning, is within an easy commute to the city, offers a steadily growing community and to act at a time when favour falls toward the buyer.

It’s truly fortunate to have all of these factors aligning perfectly at 35 Hereford Street in Te Atatu Peninsula.
